Right now: It's finally getting chilly and to celebrate we are hosting a Multi-Designer Sweater Trunk Show from
Friday, Nov 6th - Sunday, Nov 15th at Krista K Boutique and Krista K Maternity + Baby. We will be featuring an extensive selection of sweaters from our top-selling knit lines including
Brochu Walker, Joie, Twelfth Street, Vince, Shyde, Haute Hippie, Elizabeth and James, Re Collection, Rebecca Taylor, Line and Velvet.
At the maternity store we will have designers such as,
Inca Mama,
Ripe,
Olian, and Line. We'll have a wide variety of styles (cardigans and pullovers, dressy and casual) as well as a full range in prices (some starting under $200). For the event,
take 20% off all sweaters, providing the perfect excuse to buy something for yourself when you are shopping for others in the holiday season.
In the know: On Monday we had a photoshoot with
Becky Hill for
Re Collection, one of our favorite new lines that is exclusive to us here in Chicago. The line is inspired and created from vintage pieces, made into modern silhouettes. The line is designed by PJ Faulstick from
Twelfth Street. He scours vintage shops looking for embellishments and inspirations and sometimes the lost jewels of avante garde women, from which he turns into fantastic plays of color and detail.
Daily Candy is a fan and featured a write up on the emerging line and designer.
The word is:
"Environmental clubLocal brand Re: Collection manages to succeed where other "green" fashion lines fall short, re-purposing vintage items into a contemporary line so stylish and modern you might have to be told twice before believing it was once a pile of castaway clothing.
The brand is the brainchild of Soex, a German-based company that each year turns 300 million pounds of old clothing into refreshed items for wear in developing countries or sustainable industrial materials such as automotive and residential insulation. Re: Collections' pieces hang alongside designer lines at Ron Herman and Barneys Co-Op. Prices range from $80 to $400.
The line's creative director,
P.J. Faulstick, culls materials from 14 warehouses around the world, choosing supplies that are abundant enough to make multiples of each item."

PJ Faulstick would scour vintage stores and flea markets hunting for treasures to redesign. Today, his line
Re Collection works in that spirit, resurrecting vintage clothing by marrying the materials with new fabrications, transforming men’s suits into dresses and giving discarded T-shirts a chic new life.
Re Collection clothing pairs boho inspiration with a button-down East Coast sensibility, and by using reclaimed fabrics, recycles as it pays homage to fashion history.
Re Collection is a merging of the best in old and new, masculine and feminine, and high and low. Re Collection is an eco friendly line as each piece is made from recycled garments." -
